Peacenic 2024

PEACENIC YPSILANTI-YPSILANTI TWP 2024 WAS A SUCCESS!

With over 500 attendees, Peacenic demonstrated strong community involvement, including engagement from law enforcement, local leaders, and residents. The collaboration between Michigan State Police, Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, Michigan Department of Corrections, Eastern Michigan Public Safety Department and Ypsilanti Police Department was vital in ensuring the event’s safety and reinforcing trust between law enforcement and the community.

  • Youth Engagement: The sports activities (3-on-3 basketball and flag football) and creative outlets (poetry, singing, DJ Quan) attracted a large number of participants aged 6-18, giving them positive ways to express themselves and build relationships within the community.
  • Partnerships: The event benefited from numerous collaborations, including local churches, Washtenaw Community College, and nonprofits such as Home of New Vision, which provided volunteers and helped with logistics.
  • Support and Donations: Donations like Sponsorship from various stakeholders made a tangible difference, benefiting youth and the community at large. This showed the event’s ability to secure resources that positively impacted the community.
  • Safety Measures: With the involvement of Sergeant Eugene Rush and other law enforcement officers, the event was well-organized and focused on maintaining peace. Initiatives for post-event community roundtables and continued support for parolees and those on government assistance will ensure community efforts to build a better future for those reintegrating back into society. This allows Peacenic’s influence to extend beyond the event itself.

Peacenic 2024 not only drew a large crowd but also left an indelible positive impact on Ypsilanti by fostering peace and providing essential resources and engagement opportunities for residents.
